Our
History
Our company was established by the late Robert D. Monroe, who after retiring from the fulltime Christian ministry began offering affordable monuments to the Wabash community on a part-time basis. At this time Mr. Monroe's home was used as an office. The venture became so successful that in 1996 Robert's son Larry and his family moved to Wabash to assume ownership and management of the company. At this time capital investments were made for the purchase of an office building and much needed commercial equipment. These changes set the stage for the next phase of growth for the company.
Now with over 15 years of proven stability, the company continues to experience steady growth. We believe our success has in part been brought about by our dedication to the following business principles, established by our founder, Robert D. Monroe.
- We will incorporate the highest of moral and ethical standards into our every business practice.
- We will remember that we aren't just selling a product, but we have the opportunity to touch people's hearts and lives.
- We will keep ourselves educated in our industry, being aware of the latest technology and fabrication techniques, in order to meet the needs of an increasingly more demanding and discriminating consumer.
- We will always provide unparalleled, personalized service.
- Whenever possible, we will buy direct from quarrier/manufacturers, eliminate middlemen and their markups, and pass the savings on to our customers.
- We will purchase the finest materials available in the market, thus providing the best value for our customers.
In September of 2007 the company was acquired by Wabash native Rick L. Burns, a second generation stone cutter and owner of Burns Cemetery Lettering. Mr. Burn's hands-on experience with stone cutting and general working knowledge of the monument industry uniquely qualifies him to lead the company into the future.
